Slouch Hat: Chevrons on Dusty Pink
Arrows are ancient symbols, beneficent in showing the way and ruthless in piercing. May these infinite chevrons point you towards warmth and peace, and cut through the cold and negative clouds.
Dyed with locally foraged black walnut husks, rhubarb leaves, and my studio-grown Japanese indigo. Dusty pink background is dyed with wild madder roots. The chevron pattern is created by dyeing measured skeins of yarn with a resist technique so that the stripes pull into diagonals when knit.
Lined with self knit smooth 80% fine grade alpaca / 20% silk for gentle contact on hair and skin. Exterior fiber is 50% superfine local Romeldale wool / 50% local fine grade alpaca. Hand wash.
Unisex fit is slouchy. The height of the hat when flat is 10". Stretchy to fit most heads.
