Lace Plaid Bandanas
These bandanas use the same yarn colors as the Combinations and Permutations bandanas, with warm natural squares of lace between the stripes of indigo and buckthorn dyes. The indigo, Persicaria tinctoria, a native of Asia, was purposefully grown from seed on my tiny plot of land. Common Buckthorn, a European shrub which is commonly considered an invasive here, was purposefully removed from nearby conservation land. The variety of shades was achieved by many different methods and combinations of dyeing and overdyeing with the two materials, as well as using different natural toned base yarns. The result is rich waves of earthy colors interacting with each other in the weaving.
These lightweight, generously sized, bandanas are great to tie around your neck, or over your head, for a splash of warmth, color and connection to the land. They can be folded triangularly in four different ways to highlight different colors.
25" square. Five available. Each bandana in the run has subtly different colored stripes, so pick the one which speaks to you the most.
